A project whereby SSVP conferences in the southern part of Canada, assists those in need, in the far north and Arctic. Sea containers of food and necessities are shipped annually from the Edmonton area, by truck and sea barged to Inuvik, Tsiigehtchic, Fort McPherson, Tuktoyaktuk, Paulatuk, Aklavik, Sachs Harbour, Fort Good Hope and Ulukhaktok. St Albert, North of 60 Project, with the support of the St Albert Parish and the Holy Family Parish, is specifically partnered with the Hamlet of Ulukhaktok, pop 450. For most of the year, Ulukhaktok is a fly in community of 450 and is located on Victoria Island in the Beaufort Sea. The cost of living there is extremely high, and most find it difficult to make ends meet.
